Day-Date Heavy Watch – which factory you should choose from?

Since the first heavy Rolex Day-Date from GM Factory, there have been a lot of watch factories making replicas of heavy Rolex Day-Date in recent two years, the competition in this field is crazy, every watch factory also claims that their Day-Date is the best one in the market, and the prices are more and more expensive. As customers, we are very confused, it is really worth to spend a big money on a heavy Day-Date replica Rolex watch? Which watch maker we should choose from?

Today, I will choose the Day-Date from three watch makers including GM, THB and CY as examples, to do a basic review on each, and tell you which one to choose from.

First, it is GM V3 edition. About V5 edition, GM sells this watch under a new name “QF”, absolutely what they did this is to get more easy money, upon V3, they only added two extra links, so the V5 has a much longer bracelet, but price is higher. I do not think it is necessary to choose V5, because V3 already has a longer bracelet.

The following two pictures show you the Day-Date from THB factory. It has the bracelet that is the same length as that of GM V5, but THB Day-Date is about 195 grams, while GM V5 is about 186 grams. THB uses a super clone 3255 movement, which seems to become the main selling point, but I do not think there is a big difference between the GM 3255 and theirs.

Last, it is the Day-Date produced by CY. I totally not recommend this one, it is too expensive, I know THB already has a very high price, which is very close to that of Daytona, but the price of Day-Date made by CY is more expensive than THB, this is crazy. CY factory found a strange solution to gain weight, they make the links on the bracelet thicker, I measured the links, each is about 0.3mm thicker than the one on GM. This is not good.

My advice for beginner is just choosing the V3 Day-Date from GM, with clone ETA 2836 movement. It has a more reasonable price, GM has been in this industry for years, the finish is acceptable.

The Best Super Clone Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15407

And we can clearly see the rotating balance wheel, no longer hidden like the first one published by APS factory, and the one published by ZF has a nonmoving wheel at 7:30.

However, if you check that golden wheel, you will find the one on THB is also not perfect, that wheel on the genuine watch has some decoration, which looks like tiny screws, THB does not have these tiny screws. The skeleton dial looks very good, I think THB has done a perfect job to finish such a good dial, it is very difficult, the rotating wheel is set at a correct position on the dial, the openworked art looks great, the construction of the dial on the replica looks exactly the same as that of genuine watch, some tiny places may look slightly different, but this is the dial of replica 15407 that is closest to the genuine. This 15407 from THB factory still has some details that could be improved, will Z Factory publish a perfect ultimate version in future? Who knows.
